To help mall owners with learning to use this retail POS system on their business equipment, Computer Support Services, Inc. has created this tutorial of screenshots. You can see at a glance what each window does.
Displays last Action date for customers and exports customer info. to Excel, CSV, or prints a quick report. You can produce mailing labels for customers. Note the "Find" button limits the display and items selected for exports and labels.
Captures contact information for the retail POS system, such as email addresses and cell phones. Displays customer's interests based on past purchases.
The "Customer Performance" screen displays a graphic comparing the class (Interest) of the customer's purchases. Note that the graphic requires MS Excel to be installed.
This function of the consignment store software allows you to define and reuse email text with subject line. Also, select customers based on customer interests or other criteria (zip code), and mass email selected customers via the "Email" button. The email can also have attachments, such as a marketing flyer. Note the workstation used for mass emailing must have internet access and MS Outlook installed.
On the "Inventory Browse" window you can export the displayed items to Excel or CSV formatted file and print the inventory stored in the retail POS system.
Note the "Bar Code" buttons. The "Bar Code Sheets" button prints bar codes for the selected (Tagged) items on 8.5" by 11" paper, while the "Bar Code Label" button produces bar code labels to attach to items. In either case, bar coding is usually used in conjunction with a scanner for high-speed data entry. The MallMaster fully supports the production of bar codes and bar code scanning.
Show the standard inventory fields of data. Note the "Commission" area. This is usually used with consignment items for the sales commission may vary greatly. Entries made on the inventory form are loaded to the "Sales Entry" screen when the item is sold.
Exports dealer information from this retail POS system to Excel, CSV, or prints a quick report. You can produce mailing labels for dealers. Note the "Find" button limits the display and items selected for exports and labels. Also, access inventory that belongs to the individual dealers.
Dealer Information Screen 1:
Collects dealer demographics and date. You can identify the dealer as a vendor for combining dealer checks where dealers have rented multiple spaces. Allows you to capture contact information, such as, email addresses and cell phones.
Dealer Information Screen 2:
Defines fees that the dealers pay, and fee rates, if different from the Mall defaults. You can identify accounting data for interfacing our retail POS system with Quicken or QuickBooks. You can set up discounts offered by dealers with start and stop dates. Also, display the last check issued.
The "Performance" tab on the dealer form displays a graphic comparing the current year monthly sales for the dealer to the average mall dealer's sales for the same period. Note that the "Performance" screen requires MS Excel to be installed on your retail POS system computer.
Note the following "Legend":
Dealer - Year being compared (16), followed by the type of comparison ($), followed by the dealer (01).
Average - Year being compared (16), followed by the type of comparison ($), followed by the average for all dealers for this period (AVG).
This function allows you to define and reuse email text with the subject line. Also, select dealers based on criteria (zip code) or select all dealers, and mass email to those dealers selected via the "Email" button. Email can have an attachment per your definition. This feature also enables emailing end of period statements to dealers and "End of Day" activity reports. Note the workstation being used for mass emailing must have internet access and MS Outlook installed.
The "Dealer Activity" screen allows you to look at and print dealer activity over a period of time. Note the item that has no date and no dollar amount indicates an invoice that has sales activity, but no payment was recorded. Note the "Find" button is used frequently to locate items by description or other criteria. Note the "Export" button allows you to print a quick report of what you see in the browser window, or export the browser window data from this retail POS system to an Excel or a .CSV file.
Allows one click entry to start a new invoice on the retail POS system. You can lookup invoices entered to recall a previous invoice. Also, force invoices to be entered in sequence or allow out of sequence entry (Backroom Mode). Invoices are captured by year. You can also:
• Display Sales & Payments Received for a Transaction • Identify Customers, But This Is Not Required • Identify Gift Certificate Sales With Expiration Dates • Identify Layaway Sales With Expiration Dates
Sales Entry Form:
Quickly identify exempt sales, identify consignment sales vs. dealer booth sales, and salesman involved with the sale. You can link the sale to an inventory item allowing data fields to be populated from the inventory item. (Bar Code Scanning is available.) Also, enter discounts as a percent or discounted amount. The discounted price may also be entered. If a dealer has their entire inventory on sale, the "Global" discount is applied within the retail POS system.
Note the ability to override default "Mall Sales Commission" amounts as indicated at the bottom of the screen. Each sales transaction can have a note attached. Items entered into the transaction are listed on this screen. Fields, such as "Class" and "Description", are auto-completed based on previous entries in this retail POS system expediting data entry.
